New, simple design, advanced security features and eco-friendly, biodegradable material for Hellenic Bank’s new Mastercard & Visa card line
Hellenic Bank customers will soon be holding their new, eco-friendly cards. The Bank is redesigning its card portfolio and their new refined design aims to meet the trends demanded by our times, resulting in a fresh and minimalist look.
The new Mastercard and Visa cards will be available as of 25 October 2021 to new customers and gradually to customers whose card expired or needs to be replaced. All Hellenic Bank Mastercard cards will be made of biodegradable, environmentally friendly material, requiring 82% less PVC to produce. Biodegradable Visa cards will follow in the coming year.
Furthermore, the new design ensures customer security and privacy, as it now subtly features the 16-digit card number on the back of the card.
Protecting the environment has always guided every aspect of Hellenic Bank’s operations, implementing sustainable practices, and supporting “green” initiatives and businesses. Hellenic Bank was the first Cypriot bank to join the Priceless Planet Coalition, an environmental initiative launched by Mastercard, with members that include leading banking institutions from around the world. In this context, it is now issuing eco-friendly cards.
Additionally, customers will be able to link their cards to their smartphones, allowing them to easily carry out contactless payments via the Hellenic Bank Wallet or Apple Pay, turning their smartphones into wallets.
