The long-awaited great project of Cyprus Public Transport, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, the Nicosia new network, is now available to passengers, as CPT has already started operating the new routes, with great success.
As from the 29th of January 2022 the new routes are covering places where passengers had no access before and they connect more areas of the city. Now passengers arrive at their destination comfortably, conveniently and in less time!
Reduced waiting time at the stop and on the bus, comfortable and quick transportation with no stress, increased connectivity are some of the benefits experienced by the passengers along with Cyprus Public Transport’s experience in transportation services. To achieve this, the company provides 6 different hubs. Solomos Square, Makarios Stadium, Strovolos (which will be given to the public at Phase 2), Nicosia General Hospital, Tamasos Station and Alambra Station are included in the hubs of the new network and thanks to their connection, passengers are facilitated by having more choices of routes. It should be noted that bus numbers have changed from three-digit to two-digit.
The new European-level network is, of course, part of the innovative PAME App. Those who choose Cyprus Public Transport for their journeys are able to plan the new routes before they start, and they also have real-time access to the arrival time of the bus they use!
Along with the Wi-Fi connection to a 5G network, open to all buses and stations of the company in Nicosia and Larnaca, the Nicosia new route network is Cyprus Public Transport’s next step in the continuous upgrading of their services. The aim is to better serve passengers and to establish public transportation in the consciousness of citizens as an operational and sustainable commuting solution.
The Nicosia new network will be implemented in two phases and the second one will follow on 28th February 2022.
