The opening ceremony of the new Consulate Office of the Republic of the Philippines took place on Tuesday, October 26th.
The ceremonial ribbon in the new Consulate Office was cut by the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines based in Athens, Giovanni E. Palec, the Mayor of Larnaka, Mr. Andreas Vyras, the Political Director for Bilateral Affairs and Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) Coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Ambassador Andreas Ignatiou and the Consul ad honorem, Ms. Charmagne Garcia-Laconico.
The Consul ad honorem, Charmagne Garcia-Laconico welcomed to the new offices on the Archbishop Makarios Avenue, the VIPs from the political and the business landscape of Cyprus, associates and friends.
In her greeting, the Consul ad honorem of the Republic of the Philippines, Charmagne Garca-Laconico underlined that the Consulate Office is the “home” for the Philippinos that live in Cyprus, away from home. The expats, in this “home”, they will meet the most sincere smiles and will be provided with help concerning any consular services.
“My vision is to strengthen the ties between the two nations and promote our culture in the Cypriot community”.
On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Consulate Office, the Consul ad honorem, honored the former Director of the Fire Service, Markos Trangolas for his invaluable contribution in solving the crimes against Philippino women in the lake in Xyliatos.
During the ceremony, the guests had the opportunity to admire the exhibition of the collection of works “Best of the Philippines” by famous fashion designers and artists of the Philippines that communicate the tradition of their country through their works and are distinguished all over the world.
