The non-profit organisation Tech Island has launched a new initiative to contribute to the strengthening of the vaccination program in Cyprus.

The initiative, called “vacCYnation – Help make Cyprus Covid-free”, encourages young people under 30 to get vaccinated and take part in a fun new contest where they could win Mini Cooper Countryman cars, iPads and many other prizes.

At a press conference held yesterday afternoon at the Journalist House in Nicosia, the Board of Directors of Tech Island presented this new initiative, highlighting that it aims to strengthen the state’s efforts to promote the vaccination program, especially among the youth of Cyprus.

As mentioned, through the initiative, Tech Island aims to contribute to the efforts made to build immunity in the community in order to keep it safe, by encouraging young people to participate in the government vaccination program.

At the same time, it acts as a reward for the sacrifices that our society has made and continues to make throughout the pandemic, as vaccination is both the key to getting out of it and returning to normalcy.

Participants in the draw can claim amazing prizes offered by Tech Island member companies, such as:

  • 3 Mini Cooper Countryman cars from Exness,
  • 50 iPads from ASBIS,
  • 2 Samsung 65′ TVs from Odyssey Cybersecurity,
  • 100 tickets for the Reflect festival from Heart Group,
  • 100 hosting & domain coupons worth 50 euro each from Servers.com
  • 100 30 euro coupons for the restaurant Mitbah in Limassol from the company Yomoroa4media.

Eligible to take part in the draw are permanent residents of Cyprus below the age of 30 who are vaccinated with at least the first dose of one of the vaccines against Covid-19 at the time of any of the three lucky draws throughout the duration of this activation. Those interested can visit www.vaccynation.com.cy and register to enter. The lucky draws will take place on September 20th, October 4th and October 18th.

Participants will automatically be included in any and all prize draws following the date they register. The contest will be supervised by auditing firm Deloitte.

Tech Island was founded in April 2021 and represents over 130 tech companies based in Cyprus, which share a common vision: to transform Cyprus to the technological capital of the region through the creation of an ecosystem that will make it a top destination for multinational companies and the best talents in the global tech world.

This is not the first time that technology companies stand in solidarity with the Cyprus society and take an active part in the fight against Covid-19. Last year, these companies donated special equipment to public hospitals worth 2 million euro, strengthening the fight against the pandemic.
