Deloitte Cyprus announced that as of 1 June 2021, Pieris Markou is the new Chief Executive Officer. Markou succeeds Christis Christoforou, who led Deloitte for the past 20 years. The new appointment follows Christoforou’s decision to retire and following a robust governance consultation process involving all partners, Pieris Markou was appointed as CEO.

Pieris Markou
Pieris Markou is the CEO of Deloitte Cyprus and a member of the Deloitte Middle East Executive Board, having previously served as the Tax & Legal Services Leader. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, as well as a board member of the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Pieris Markou is also currently the Vice President of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). He is one of the most renowned Cypriot tax advisors and in recent years has been actively involved in shaping the tax policy of Cyprus with the respective governments.
