The official inauguration of Cryos International state-of-the-art facilities, the first independent sperm and egg bank in Cyprus, took place on Thursday, October 7th in the presence of politicians, members of the medical community, and over 100 scientists in the field of medically assisted reproduction from Cyprus and abroad.
The inauguration was conducted by the Honorable Minister of Health Michalis Hadjipantelas alongside the founder of Cryos International, Ole Schou, the CEO Helle Sejersen Myrthue and the Director of European Operations, Saghar Kasiri.
Cryos is the world’s largest sperm and egg bank, drawing upon 30+ years of experience and expertise in cryopreservation, and has launched Cyprus’ first independent donor gamete bank in Nicosia to boost assisted reproduction in the country. The bank is fully authorized by the Cyprus Ministry of Health and collaborates with all stakeholders to offer services such as sperm and egg donation.
The modern state-of-the-art premises in Nicosia adhere to all quality and safety standards as recommended by both Cyprus regulations and the European Union Tissue and Cells Directives (EUTCD). The specialized Cryos team in Cyprus, ISO 9001 certified, comprises experienced professionals, who follow all internationally recognized practices applied by the company worldwide, assisting donors every step of the way throughout the process of sperm and egg donation.

As part of official inauguration celebrations, Cryos International hosted its 4th Annual World Symposium in Nicosia on Friday, October 8th, under the auspices of the Ministry of Health. The first symposium of its kind to be held in Cyprus, international experts gathered to share latest news and scientific research within the field of Assisted Reproductive Technology. Approximately 200 key industry leaders in reproductive medicine of international renown attended the event, including many prestigious guests from around Cyprus.
