Lidl Cyprus Raised €100,000 for the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society and for the first year, supports the Adopt-a-Room Program at the ‘Arodafnousa’ Palliative Care Centre
Lidl Cyprus also maintained its commitment to placing contribution to society and supporting our fellow human beings during the Christmas holidays at the core of its actions.
From November 30 until stock ran out, with each purchase of a package of selected wooden Playtive toys, Lidl Cyprus offered €15 to the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society. In total, the amount of €100,000 was collected, the largest amount made available by the company for a public benefit purpose up to date.
The amount will be allocated for the full coverage of the Nutritional Program of the ‘Arodafnousa’ Palliative Care Centre, as well as for the support of the Adopt-a-Room program of the Centre.
For the first time ever, Lidl Cyprus is pleased to embrace the program, by adopting its own room at the ‘Arodafnousa’ Palliative Care Centre, during an extremely difficult year for the Centre. The goal is to provide uninterrupted palliative care to all cancer patients.
At the same time, in the context of communicating this year’s Christmas energy, Lidl Cyprus supported the TV concert “Evening of love with Alkisti Protopsalti”, which took place on Saturday, February 13 and was broadcast live by Alpha Cyprus.
As a long-time supporter of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, since 2013 Lidl Cyprus has made donations, both in cash and products, amounting to a total of €500,000. On the road to a better tomorrow, Lidl Cyprus will continue to proceed with acts of strength and responsibility, sending a message of hope and optimism to our fellow human beings.
