The Cyprus Government announced the reopening of all schools on the 2nd of April, after a long period of hiatus.
All Gymnasium and Lyceum students are going back and Cyprus Public Transport is ready to welcome everyone again on board. CPT’s school services will operate as normal and all buses will run at full capacity. Under these circumstances, a disinfection schedule has been set, monitored and strictly implemented in order to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Transport Communications and Works.
More good news is that CPT’s general bus services are also coming back, which means that all routes operated by CPT return to full capacity. In order to meet the 100% capacity challenge on the buses it uses, CPT has adopted all necessary measures to ensure safe and comfortable trips for its passengers.
Cyprus Public Transport operates school routes for Gymnasiums’, Lyceums’ and Technical Schools’ students in the Nicosia (Urban, Alambra, Tamasos, West Area) and Larnaca Districts.
In the Nicosia and Larnaca Districts, CPT operates ordinary bus routes via an extensive network, connecting the suburbs with the city centers and the outlying villages. Night routes in both districts and airport routes in the Larnaca District are also included in CPT’s services.
Parents should not forget that all students must have a valid monthly card to travel or they will have to purchase a single ticket.
To have a valid card, all students can top it up at any station or online at CPT’s website.
Contactless ticketing options are available to all passengers, as safety is always a priority and especially under the difficult circumstances we are currently experiencing.
