Cyprus Culture Summit: Music 2022 8-11 December 2022, Limassol

The Organization for European Programs and Cultural Relations, in its capacity as the National Contact Point/Desk for the programs “Creative Europe”, “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” and the “New European Bauhaus”, and the Center for Music Research, Innovation and International Networking, organizes the Cyprus Culture Summit: Music 2022, between 8 and 11 December 2022 in Limassol.

This highly interactive event aims to provide information and work sessions on issues related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations as a blueprint for action, advocacy, and partnership in the international music sector. The main goal of the organization is to create a dialogue platform on the critical issues that concern the European music sector such as:

  • recent developments and the current situation in the international music sector
  • lessons learned from the covid-19 pandemic and potential outcomes/outcomes for the sector
  • areas of possible deeper cooperation of the various bodies and supporters of the international music sector

The event will offer the 100+ attendees a program of conferences, networking events, workshops and meetings, offering a program of activities that will allow for open and constructive dialogue. It will include the following key elements/themes:

  • Innovation in the cultural and creative industries
  • Digital transition in the field of music
  • Towards a greener music sector
  • Enrichment and upgrading of the skills of professionals in the Cultural and Creative Sectors
  • Culture and social cohesion: inclusion, equality, gender equality, access

The event will be attended by delegations from many European and international cultural networks and is an important milestone in the roadmap to create a platform for Cypriot music creators and supporters to network, exchange ideas and develop new ways of working with the international music sector.

Participants include local and international cultural and music professionals, together with delegations from key music networks and associations from across Europe and the world, active in various sectors of the contemporary music value chain. At the same time, the invited guests will have the opportunity to present their members, their mission, and the current focus of their work, together with indicative practices as well as new developments in the international field of music.

The event will be held in a hybrid mode and all working sessions will be conducted in English.
