As part of its restructuring strategy and executive team upgrade, the Board of Directors and management team of AstroBank Public Company Ltd have been strengthened with the addition of new members with extensive banking experience.
The Annual General Meeting of AstroBank’s shareholders, which was held on Friday, 10 September, elected Mr. Michalis Sarris and Mrs. Evi Rossidou Antoniadou as new members of the Bank’s Board of Directors. Mr Sarris, former Minister of Finance with extensive banking experience with World Bank, was elected Independent Member of AstroBank’s Board of Directors. The head of AstroBank’s Corporate Banking, SME and Shipping Division was appointed as a new Executive Member of the Bank’s Board of Directors. Mrs Rossidou has been with the Bank since 2008, while she previously worked with Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Bank of Cyprus. The appointments are subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Cyprus.
AstroBank’s Management Team has also been reinforced with the appointment of Mr. Andreas Artemiou as Senior Financial Advisor. Mr Artemiou previously held senior positions in Bank of Cyprus and Cynergy Bank in London, where he was lastly Chief Risk Officer and member of the Executive Committee.
Speaking about the new additions to the Bank’s team, AstroBank’s CEO, Mr Aristidis Vourakis mentioned: “AstroBank is upgrading its administrative structure with new members, to accelerate the execution of its business plan and offer targeted services to its clients”.
