Tax is a complex issue, so ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and the Institute of Certified Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) are ensuring that their future members, studying to become tax specialists in Cyprus, are trained to manage these complexities by offering approved study materials that are relevant, high quality and approved.
ACCA’s and ICPAC’s future members studying for tax exams in Cyprus – called Taxation (TX) and Advanced Taxation (ATX) Cyprus – can now take advantage of study materials approved under ACCA’s Recognised Content Provider (RCP) programme and endorsed by ICPAC.
For Advanced Taxation, the necessary study expertise is provided by Polina Jacovidou-Michael, a tutor at PwC’s Academy Cyprus, who has approval under ACCA’s RCP programme for her study materials following a review by ACCA’s examining team and with the endorsement of the ICPAC.
This is in addition to study materials for Taxation (TX) Cyprus by Mrs Jacovidou-Michael, holding the same approval.
Alan Hatfield, Executive Director – Strategy & Development at ACCA says: ‘These study materials help create the future members who will become ACCA qualified tax experts, professionally qualified people who will be able to understand the technicalities of tax laws and rules, and importantly also able to communicate these to clients or their colleagues.
‘Validated by ACCA and endorsed by ICPAC, our approved study materials cover all syllabus areas examined for TX Cyprus and ATX Cyprus. They guide our students for their future exams, where they’re expected to be able to identify issues relating to taxation, alongside demonstrating detailed basic and advanced knowledge of the Cyprus tax system.’
Kyriakos Iordanou, General Manager at ICPAC comments:
‘We were delighted to contribute towards the publication of these study materials and eventually to endorse them. This set of guides include all the recent and up to date relevant developments in the area of Tax in Cyprus and constitute the essential study material for all students taking the TX Cyprus and ATX Cyprus variant papers. Furthermore, these guides are very helpful for any professional in his or her daily work.’
Polina Jacovidou-Michael, the author and tutor says:
‘As a tutor with almost 25 years of experience in teaching taxation under both the UK and Cyprus Legislation, I have seen the challenges faced by the students who were studying for the Cyprus Tax papers, due to the lack of dedicated study material. I’m glad that I have decided to invest a huge amount of time and effort and do all the necessary sacrifices, in order to prepare this material, which I’m convinced will equip and empower the students to meet their objectives during their studies and hopefully beyond their qualification point. Many thanks to ACCA and ICPAC for all their support and for making this effort a success’.
The ACCA Qualification includes major innovations to ensure its members and future members continue to be the most valued, up to date and sought-after accountancy professionals globally.
